Dr. Michael L. Lomax Student Success Scholarship

Eligibility: All Class Years, 3.0 GPA, ACT 28/SAT 1000, Demonstrated need (FAFSA required)


Full Description
This scholarship was made possible by the generosity of Patty Quillin and Reed Hastings. Eligibility requirements include:

Incoming Freshman:

  • ACT 28 or greater
  • SAT 1000 or greater
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • Demonstrated low Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as illustrated on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and confirmed by the College’s Office of Financial Aid

Sophomore, Junior, or Senior:

  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • Demonstrated low Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as illustrated on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and confirmed by the College’s Office of Financial Aid

Scholarship is renewable up to four (4) years providing that recipient continues to meet the criteria. To maintain eligible, you must:

  • Maintain full-time student equivalency at Morehouse College
  • Be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA Of 3.0
  • Complete 30 credit-hours per academic year
  • Participate in one (1) Career Development Workshop per semester
  • Annually participate in 50 hours of community service to be coordinated by the Office of Experiential Education
  • Meet with assigned scholarship advisor once per semester

Award Details
Award will cover the full cost of enrollment and vary based on financial need. Will be used to cover tuition, room and board expenses that are not covered by other financial aid and expected family contributions as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or the methodology used by Morehouse College.
